Pregabalin – Laboratory Reagent, CAS 148553-50-8
Chemical reagent intended solely for laboratory, research and analytical purposes. NOT FOR HUMAN OR ANIMAL CONSUMPTION. It is not a medicinal product, dietary supplement or food.
Pregabalin is an organic compound belonging to the family of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) derivatives, formally (S)-3-(aminomethyl)-5-methylhexanoic acid. Structurally it is an analogue of GABA bearing a branched aliphatic side chain, which gives it physicochemical and receptor-binding characteristics distinct from the parent neurotransmitter. As a single (S)-enantiomer it is a frequent subject of medicinal-chemistry research, experimental pharmacology and instrumental analysis. In the laboratory it typically presents as a white crystalline powder that is freely soluble in water as well as in acidic and basic aqueous solutions, which simplifies the preparation of standard solutions.
